If ever a SNES game deserved a “Fuck yeah!”, it is this one. Memories!

Things I Have Learned Today

  • Technology is a fickle mistress.
  • Things will mysteriously start to work again, flawlessly, once you give up trying to fix them.
  • Windows will always find a way to piss you off, and it will twist the knife at the same time.
  • Failure of one OS suddenly makes you think your alternative (working!) OS is utterly perfect in every single way - even though in real life it is not.
  • Having a second system is incredibly useful and comforting.
  • Being lazy about backing data up results in fear and panic, so it is better to just keep things backed up constantly, no matter how safe you think you are.

Gaming Hell

My experience trying out the free MMOG Dungeon Runners thus far has been… less than great.

I loaded up the game at long last, made a character, and once I hit the world? The game crashed as I moused over the buttons in the toolbar.

And now, after forcibly restarting the PC, I’m getting disk read errors.

What a way to start the day. Sigh.

edit: And now it’s telling me I need to repair Windows. FFFFUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUU

edit2: It will not boot. Going to try booting from a live CD to rescue my stuff, then flatten it.
