I’ve been going by Swan (or Swanshapes, if the username Swan is already registered!) online since about 2002. It’s a roleplay-gaming moniker that just happened to stick. It stuck so hard that even my brothers call me as Swan nowadays, and I’m tempted to make it my legal name. Of course, I also answer to brilliantology in IRC!
I am a 24 year old English European, and a bit of a jack of all trades. I have a graphic design qualification, have been trained in fine art portraiture, studied traditional photography for a while, and ended up with an undergraduate degree in ancient history and archaeology. Hobbies include roleplaying games (yes, D&D), dog training, and cake baking.
I’m now a postgraduate student taking an MA in Archaeology in the South West of England, but who knows, I may run off into the night and become a baker instead just to escape having to write another dissertation.
About Brilliantology
I get a lot of compliments about this word, but for a long time I hated it. This domain was purchased for my mother (as were are both -ologists, and she loved the word brilliant a little too much) so that she could have a fancy email address and a subdomain for a private recipe wiki. When she ended up hardly using it, I decided to take it over myself and release a tumblelog of my very own into the wild.

I also lurk around Flickr and have become addicted to Twitter. Sometimes I tumble my dog. I’ve also started poking around Delicious a bit more lately, and I’ve begun to feed games to my Raptr. I’m also on Facebook, but I keep that for people I know in real life, sorry!
