Small gestures

Today, at about 7:30am while I was stood in the cold at the train station, I had a mini-black out/fainting spell. Luckily, I managed to stumble my way to a bench and ask someone to give up their seat for a while.

A young man (a University student, I think) obliged, then stayed nearby just to make sure I was alright. The feeling passed after I thought to get a chocolate biscuit down me. He asked if I was ok and I said I was fine, thank you, and so on. We went our separate ways.

It was nice to know that sometimes people really will make some effort toward their fellow human, though. It’s easy to be cynical about these kinds of things.

Water

I tried this for the first time today, and I’m impressed. I’m trying to wean myself off pop (soda, coke, etc) and this was a pleasant alternative to water.

Yes! I can’t recommend those highly enough. I’ve got two boxes sitting in my desk. They help me conquer the 32-64 oz. of water I try to drink everyday.

Is water really so awful it needs flavouring into something else? I feel really weird when people bring up this subject because I’m virtually addicted to plain ordinary water. I love it, and I easily drink a couple of litres through the course of a day. I don’t buy silly bottled water, of course, I just fill up a bottle of tap water and chill it, then I enjoy it. Water is great!

Ideally, the best way to drink water on the go would be an aluminum or stainless steel water bottle, as they seem to exhibit the least amount of health concerns out of all the choices.

This article actually prompted me to buy an aluminium water bottle while I was out the other day and throw out the refilled-a-dozen-times plastic bottles I’ve been using.
