1. My Apple Anniversary

And it turns out I missed it (it was the end of October). I got my unibody Macbook a little over a year ago.

I don’t have an awful lot to add to my raving about it in that initial post. I love this machine, I love OSX - I bought Snow Leopard too - and this machine has been a joy to use.

Of course, I haven’t completely ‘made the switch’. I still have PC, which now runs Windows 7 (and has been impressive for a Windows OS), but I find myself doing much more on the Mac. The PC is quite simply a gaming machine, but even that’s wearing out now. Were I to buy a console, I don’t imagine I’d need a Windows PC at all.

I’m blathering on a bit! My point was that, one year on, I can’t imagine being without a Mac as my primary machine. I love it.

  2. I keep refreshing the tracking page for my Windows 7 delivery to guess when it will arrive.

I am officially sad, but with XP on my PC after all these years, I’m actually looking forward to a change.

(I still love my Mac & OSX more than is healthy, though, don’t worry!)

  4. Autumn desktop on my Macbook. Nice and clean! My most regularly-used apps sit in my (hidden) dock.

  6. Seeing apples through broken windows

My PC is out of action, as I have mentioned/whined about before, but as the hours pass I am less and less desperate to sort it out.

    Because I love my Mac.

Don’t get me wrong, I miss viewing things on a 19 inch screen instead of the 13 inch Macbook, and I rather miss the gaming, but I’m actually very impressed by the late 08 unibody Macbook’s ability to handle Sims 3, Spore, and EVE Online.

I’m also finding myself less distracted, as with only one display it forces me to make a choice about what I give my attention to. I can’t sit here and pretend to work while a game happily boops along on the other screen.

It’s tempting to just sit things out, and get one of those horribly expensive adapters that will let me plug my VGA monitor into my Macbook’s mini DisplayPort. Ultimately, I will become tired of all this productivity and I shall fix my PC so I can properly procrastinate once more.

    My kingdom for a Hackintosh?
